30 Jul Make-Your-Own Healthy Ice Cream Sundae Bar
For a fun and novel dessert idea for a party, create a healthy ice cream sundae bar. Your guests will love crafting their own innovative and delicious ice cream sundaes. And because all of the ingredients are healthy, everyone can feel great about consuming their better-for-you concoction.
Start with single serve containers of Brio ice cream in an array of flavors. Set them on a bowl of ice just before guests arrive at the table.
Get creative with the toppings! Try fresh berries, sliced bananas or other fresh fruit, granola, toasted coconut, dark chocolate shavings or cacao nibs, chopped dried figs or apricots, nuts, toasted buckwheat groats, sunflower seeds, dried ginger slices, chopped roasted apples and pears, acai berries, even a sweet and tangy barbeque sauce.
Create a refreshing fruit syrup by giving frozen blueberries or strawberries a quick pulse in the blender with a squirt of lemon juice and some sugar or honey. Serve cold.
Of course you could include the old standbys like sprinkles and whipped cream — but trust us, no one will notice if they aren’t on your table.
For a fun presentation, set up your ice cream sundae bar on a table covered with brown craft paper. Then get out your markers and write the names of your toppings and some playful messages. Have fun!
