16 May Brio Blog: Proudly made with organic milk
Brio is proud to be made with organic milk. Our milk is provided by Organic Valley, a Midwestern family-owned farming cooperative that has been in business for 27 years.
Why is organic milk a good choice for your ice cream? First, organic milk has absolutely no antibiotics, no synthetic hormones, no toxic pesticides and no GMOs.
Organic farmers are not allowed to use toxic pesticides and herbicides on their farms. This helps to protect wildlife, including honeybees, and keep contaminants out of our food, air, water — and your body.
Organically raised cows are never given synthetic hormones. You won’t find the artificial growth hormone r-BST used on cows on organic farms.
Non-organic farmers feed their animals antibiotics to keep them from getting sick. But when they do so, they don’t kill all of the pathogens. Some of the germs survive and reproduce, leading to antibiotic-resistant infections that pose a real threat to animals and people alike. Organic dairy farms don’t rely on antibiotics; instead they use natural holistic measures to keep animals healthy.
Research shows that organic foods are higher in antioxidants and other nutrients, like omega-3 and CLA essential fatty acids. Many people also report that organic milk tastes better, too.
There’s so much to feel good about when you choose organic milk. At Brio, we’re proud to use organic milk, because we are convinced it’s better for you and our planet. We believe you’ll agree! Learn more about Organic Valley at https://www.organicvalley.coop.
